My name is Connie, and I like to build and design! TESTING TESTING
I finished my B.S. in bioengineering with a minor in mechanical engineering at UC Berkeley.
I’ve had internships working in bioprocessing, diagnostics research, and surgical instrumentation. (click on the pictures for more info)
From such diverse experiences, I’ve learned a lot about:
- Iterative prototyping
- Design for manufacturing and assembly
- CAD + GD&T (SolidWorks and CATIA: 100+ hours each)
- FMEA risk analysis
- Selection of [biocompatible] materials
- FDA regulation for 510(k), QSR, GMP
Most importantly, I’ve learned that my passion lies in the medical device field: specifically, the exploration of how engineering can augment the human body.

But I’ve also taught myself a lot of skills outside of class: AutoCAD, Autodesk Fusion 360, Adobe Creative Suite, and CNC machining to name a few.
I enjoy building projects outside of the classroom without deadlines to worry about. In fact, I’m a featured author on instructables.com! I’ve posted 97 projects that have won 38 contests and attracted ~1.6 million views.
Not all my projects are engineering-related. Plus I don’t build all day (although whether I wish I could is another topic). I also ran throughout my undergrad!
